Our first tasting of 2016 - the Craft Beer Taste-Off was massive with 47 beer lovers. We tasted four 8 Wired craft beers vs four Garage Project creations of contrasting styles and here is the verdict.

Presented by the Craft Beer Online team on 27 January 2016. Huge thank you to Titirangi RSA (especially Tom Read) for hosting the event.

Amy Paisley, the hop expert and sensory expert has taught us about the fascinating world of Kiwi hops. She also taught us to cover the beer and swirl it around to appreciate the aromas properly. Download Amy's Notes Thank you Amy!

Also huge thank you to our friends at Black Sands for supplying us hop samples and a live hops for us to learn from!

75 votes (out of 168 possible) 3rd place - well worth waiting for the dark

Artisan: Garage Project

Brewed with roasted barley and Amercian hops the Aro Noir is a pitch black and full flavoured stout. At its heart is a blend of four malts, with Columbus and Summit hops, creating a citric bitterness and aroma that marries nicely with the roast malt character.
